Tim Baker

It is now 20 years that I have been selling real estate. Although I have sold property as far south as Selwyn and north as Kaiapoi most of my sales are in Aranui and Wainoni where I specialise.

1996 I began working for H.G. Livingstone residential. 4 years later the company joined the First National group, and then in April 2002 myself and two others bought the company and we named it Avon Realty Ltd, remaining a member of the First National Group.

In December 2006 I decided to make a change to David Lawrence Real Estate. This change has meant that I have more control over my business. This opportunity also allows me to work mainly from my home office giving me the flexibility to work smarter.

I worked for David until December 2015 when David decided after more than 30 years that he would rather just sell real estate and let someone else manage the company. This is when I opened David Lawrence Real Estate REAA2008 Ltd and David Lawrence and Tony Good began working for me. We decided to keep the name as it is familiar to 1000s of clients and we like it.

I love to sell property in the district and I am also very involved with the local community.

Working in this job gives huge flexibility to be able to be involved with other things such as School BOT for 15 years, elected member of the Burwood/Pegasus and now Coastal/Burwood Community Board 6 years (3rd term), Aranui and Districts Emergency Response Preparedness Plan and of course writing books.

To date I have written 4 books on the district: ‘Aranui and Wainoni History’, ‘Professor Bickerton’s Wainoni’, ‘St Ambrose Church Centennial’ and ‘Aranui Primary School Centennial plus one’ book as well as the ‘Linwood North School Centennial’

When you have a passion for a district it becomes a pleasure to sell property in the community I live in.
