Tim Baker – Agency owner and licensed real estate agent and salesperson REA2008
I began selling real estate in 1996, first with H.G. Livingstone Residential and then I joined the First National group in 2000. In 2002, two others and I bought the company and renamed it Avon Realty Ltd whilst remaining a member of the First National Group. In 2006, I sold my shares in Avon Realty and joined David Lawrence Real Estate. This change allowed me to work from home and work around the needs of our two children.
After more than 30 years in Real Estate, David decided to step back from management of the company in 2015 and I took over as the owner of David Lawrence Real Estate REA2008 Ltd and Tony Good joined our team. We continuted to be associated with the name in honour of David’s contribution to the area and in real estate in general until recently.
We are now known as Tim Baker Real Estate Limited.
I have lived and worked in Aranui my entire life and love being an active member of the community and promote the area in everything I do. I have sat on school Boards of Trustees and was an elected member of the Burwood/Pegasus Community Board for 8 years. I am currently an elected member for the Coastal/Burwood Community Board, a Trustee on the East Christchurch Housing Trust and deputy chair of the New Brighton and Districts museum.
I like to keep busy and over the years have become an authority on local history, and have researched, written and published books about the area: Aranui and Wainoni History, Professor Bickerton’s Wainoni, St Ambrose Church Centennial, Aranui Primary School Centennial and the Linwood North School Centennial. I was also involved in the creation of the Aranui and Districts Emergency Response Preparedness Plan.
I am committed to helping local residents sell their homes when the time comes and welcome new people into the community. I have a habit of creating long-term relationships with my clients (including invites to their weddings) and will go the extra mile to make moving as easy as possible and ensure you get the right price for your property.
I am often spoken of as the nicest real estate agent you will ever meet. A comment I put down to the fact that I simply believe in doing good, honestly above all else and a genuine love for the community we live in.
Proud to be from Aranui
